The times they are a changing – alteration to the daylight savings schedule from 2008
Premier changes time – parliament passes time bill
The Hon. Morris Iemma, MP. Committed NSW to change the commencement and finish if daylight savings time (also known as summertime) in June 2007. By the end of October the New South Wales Parliament passed the legislation effectively giving NSW residents and visitors another month per year of daylight savings.
What time now – borderline issues
Time zone differences between the states in Australia are accentuated in the annual start and end of daylight savings. Travellers’ and residents near state borders need to contend with a number of different times on a daily basis with the problem more acute at the beginning and finish of daylight savings.
South Eastern Australia states and the ACT in step
From April 2008 Australian South Eastern states will synchronise the start and of summertime (daylight savings time).
